One bone to pick I have with San Vicente is their sales rules, so I live 5 minute walk from the lake on the back side, but they make you drive your car an hour to the other side to buy a permit at the main enterence, not to mention you have to pay to fish the lake :/ they weren’t to nice about accommodations either such as asking if I can buy a license over the phone or something.

Can’t disagree more with cachuma being number 2 its definitely a reach cachuma has alot of bass but its mostly a dink fest lots of 2 lbers but the quality of the bass is not at all impressive.
    Top 3 in my opinion
    1. Diamond valley lake
    2. Lake perris
    3. Casitas

Not kidding about Casitas. Took a day out with a guide and snagged 6 nice largies over 3 pounds. The combination of it being a no contact body of water and the selection of forage fish for the bass just makes it a wonderful fishery with tons of bass everywhere

Do you need a boat to fish these lakes. Or is it not needed but recommended to be able to fish more areas and possibly catch more fish?

  16. Daniel Morton on January 14, 2022 at 5:04 pm

Gotta hand it to the guys at the Casitas bait shop. Last couple recommendations they’ve given me on spots and baits have been A+, be it bank fishing or boat fishing.

  17. Casey Dunham on January 14, 2022 at 5:05 pm

Don’t live bait fish period man. If U don’t think fish die from getting gut hooked and u cutting the line your crazy. They don’t die right there in front of u. but lots will die jus from a gut hooked hook and cutting line. So if that really means that much to u. Don’t use live bait Period.. the don’t rust out in time before they kill em trust me on this one..

  18. Casey Dunham on January 14, 2022 at 5:07 pm

Come on brotha dont be giving away my home lake like that lmao. I live here in summerland casitas on one side about 20 min away and cachuma on the other about 45. Where u from man? Jus started to fish casitas again. Haven’t been to cachuma yet but I hear it’s good. Been catchin em off the bank at casitas though
