Just mentioning Routubrn tracks is not enough. I think few New Zealand tracks are more beautiful.

Lots of irritated people here. Do they really expect the makers of this video to know about ALL the beautiful places in the world??? Africa have some REALLY nice places btw…

  7. Judith Hunt on February 18, 2020 at 12:09 pm

Cloud’s Rest at Yosemite brings you out *above* Half Dome with no crowds or queues along the way. Agree also with the comment below re. Observation Point at Zion. Sadly the trail from the valley was blocked by rock fall last summer but we walked to Observation Point from our campsite on the Mesa. Absolutely stunning.

Having gone to Yosemite, I can say that it’s pretty breathtaking, but I don’t know if I would go so far as to say it is the best in the world…

If anyone wants other ideas for amazing overnight hikes in Alberta and British Columbia, Canada, just check my channel. I have hiked almost every trail in Banff, Jasper and Kananaskis over the last 28 years.

A compilation of best treks, without a single trek from the Himalayas mentioned. Pfft!!

  23. Jim Hoover on February 18, 2020 at 12:26 pm

When thinking great hikes, be sure to consider Mt. Edziza Provincial Park in BC, Canada. Check out this Youtube clip – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NEklmsPvy2Y&t=180s – typically a fly-in, fly-out adventure, no trails (you better know how to read maps), fewer than 100 visitors last year, spectacular colours, and perfect volcanic cinder cones – in Canada!!

  27. Jean-Christophe Clement on February 18, 2020 at 12:30 pm

Badly researched … Inca trail is NOT 88km; it can START at KM88. That is from Cusco… The classic Inca Trail itself is 42km

All these "bests" are subjective.  *shrug*  Though if TRUE, I’ve been on 3 of the BEST in the world!  But I’ve been on some not mentioned.  However, if you do have a bucket list, Angel’s Landing and Half Dome in Yosemite (to include the cables) ought to be on your list.  And okay, Himalaya’s – well, sure – seems they should be added, but a NOT a cheap hike on most of them.  Grand Canyon – of course on of the top places to see, but again – it’s all subjective

Mt Rinjani is "currently in eruption, but it should be safe". No volcano in eruption is safe. Ask those that survived White Island.

What music do you fellow hikers out there like if I get a chance to listen to some music when on my hiking trips I always choose music like Delta Parole or Guns N Roses, the rawness is the best with nature.

  44. E O on February 18, 2020 at 12:49 pm

There are 267 countries in the world. If the video featured one hike from each of the 10 with the most land mass, that would be:
    1…Russia……..17,098,246 [sq. km]
    2…Canada……..9,984,670
    3…China…………9,572,900
    4…U.S…………….9,525,067
    5…Brazil…………8,515,767
    6…Australia……7,692,024
    7…India………….3,287,263
    8…Argentina…..2,780,400
    9…Kazakhstan..2,724,900
    10..Algeria………2,381,740
    Top Ten:………..73,562,937
    76..New Zealand..269,190
Of course, you can argue that the U.S. is over-represented in the video, despite its 62 national parks renowned for their size, scenery, and wilderness qualities. But to complain (as one of the top comments does) that tiny New Zealand is unfairly treated is ridiculous.
