Carcassonne, sooooo nice with three. Four is too much and Two is a little non-confrontational.

  7. Robb Brown on January 13, 2020 at 9:03 am

Seriously, I google search for a list of best 3 player board games, and I get a 50 minute video? What happened to a website that just listed out the top 10 so I could be on my way.

  17. Milan Jovanovic on January 13, 2020 at 9:23 am

    Sry guys but i can’t like a 50 minute video… too long…

  18. Landon Rivers on January 13, 2020 at 9:24 am

50 minute video. cool. Where’s the list without all this fluff?

  19. crazbird on January 13, 2020 at 9:24 am

At 35:22 Tom says something relevant to a future top 10 list

  20. John Rochester on January 13, 2020 at 9:25 am

  23. dra900nka1n on January 13, 2020 at 9:27 am

Sam has a list of the best 53 player games?
I’d love to see that, I didn’t know there were so many to choose from :p

  24. DarthSironos on January 13, 2020 at 9:28 am

Xia, was probably not out when this vid was made, but holy shit it is my favourite 3-player, a shame it is so expensive

  25. Geographus on January 13, 2020 at 9:30 am

    Skat!

  26. Ghostlight X on January 13, 2020 at 9:31 am

Totally agree on Race for the Galaxy. I find that game fantastic with 3 and not good at all with any other number.

  27. Arek Krolak on January 13, 2020 at 9:33 am

Does Jason really exist or is he an urban legend? 🙂

    What is Tom drinking?

  30. atzerath on January 13, 2020 at 9:35 am

man, 95% of all games i play are with 3 players so this top 10 was great 🙂
Unfortunatly, no games on my current wishlist were mentioned so i’ll have to add to that list..

  31. Tim Phipps on January 13, 2020 at 9:38 am

Love these top 10 lists, been watching quite a lot of them! I don’t usually comment, but had to this time as I invented a whist variant specifically for 3 players a few years back. If you’re interested in trying a simple 3 player card game, you can find the rules here: https://www.pagat.com/invented/italian_whist.html

  32. Kayon115 on January 13, 2020 at 9:39 am

What about Tales of the Arabian Nights?

  33. Simon Lederer on January 13, 2020 at 9:39 am

I have been pressing 5 for over a minute. It’s like a lame argument while sam twiddles his finger

  34. MT Worlds on January 13, 2020 at 9:41 am

45:34 listen to and watch Sam closely hahahah he’s still the best flatulence or no….

  35. Renata A on January 13, 2020 at 9:43 am

Caylus, Tikal, Tigris & Euphrates, Medina, Edo…

  36. Per Sørlie on January 13, 2020 at 9:43 am

Hey that’s my fish is not a good 3-player. Samurai and Biblios are. Also San Marco.

  37. Queen Kaur on January 13, 2020 at 9:44 am

    Pithu we can also play

  38. vancouverizer on January 13, 2020 at 9:45 am

I think Pandemic with 3 people works really well *if* each person selects their specialist. If specialists are handed out randomly then a 3 player game might suck really horribly (if you draw badly). If that happens I would highly recommend shuffling and drawing again unless you are up for a big struggle that you are sure to lose. If you are introducing new people then getting destroyed by the game is not really fun. However, losing by a little bit will keep most people interested in trying again.

  39. Just Ray on January 13, 2020 at 9:46 am

I really hope this is one list you guys will consider re-doing. 🙂

If I can add a few new ones to the list would be:
    Covert
    Elysium
    Dead Men Tell No Tales
    Xenoshyft

  40. Rick Callahan on January 13, 2020 at 9:47 am

I would love to see an update of this list for 2016. Being a family of three we play two and three players almost exclusively and are always on the hunt for our next game(s).

  41. Yellow belt on January 13, 2020 at 9:49 am

    humble request seconded

  42. Eric Finley on January 13, 2020 at 9:49 am

Of all the Top 10s this is the one I would like to see updated most. Followed closely by every other Top 10! I love these videos.

  43. John Rochester on January 13, 2020 at 9:50 am

I like how Tom disagrees with Zee’s personal choice for Kingsburg being a top 3 player game. 🙂 And suddenly Zee feels demoralized.

  44. Pura Barrios on January 13, 2020 at 9:51 am

If I have DC…… Should I get Marvel: Legendary?

  45. Hirni on January 13, 2020 at 9:52 am

I agree with Sam on the x-wing issue. I like playing with all the cheap emperial models splitt between two players. For me it adds a nice twist to the game because I have to communicate and plan with my team mate which makes is a bit more challenging. At the same time the Strategy of the emperials gets more diverse because there are now two players trying to out smart the rebell player with his almost tank like, fully upgraded ships.

+ I often use this when I introduce someone to the game. Playing all that emperial ships when you are new to this kind of game can be too much. So I´ll just team up with the new player.  Then I can warn him if he´s going to make a critical mistake or he can ask me if he isnt sure wich of his options is the best to go.

And last but not least just to back up Sams argument for the mercenary faction:  You could team up the Millenium Falcon and the Slave One, since Han Solo was a gun for hire before he joined the rebellion   ;P.

Drink something bad at 3:27, Tom?

  47. Casey Pierson on January 13, 2020 at 9:54 am

I humbly request you guys do an updated version of this. I would love some 3 player game recommendation.

  48. Peter Mogensen on January 13, 2020 at 9:54 am

How can Pandemic be "Balanced" ???
    It’s a co-op!

  49. Chozo Tull on January 13, 2020 at 9:54 am

I just noticed the big d6s are above Sam’s head.
"Soon. Soon our time will come."

  50. OC Transplant on January 13, 2020 at 9:58 am

Can we get an updated video? Many of these games are impossible or extremely hard to find (and therefore, expensive.)
