Better call Randy back in from the PNW… We’re going to need those pre season training videos soon…
Not to mention He’s drinking all our Zima stockpiles!

Yeah, they smell, bad. Mixed with stale pot smoke the mixed cocktail of human stench is one of the most foul smelling things on this earth.

Related top 5 idea: Top 5 Things to Know About Buying A Demo Board. Similar idea, but better selection of boards that don’t suck and less abused…. usually. And that’s the catch 🙂 Half my quiver is used demos, some were only taken out by a couple people who didn’t work at the shop or weren’t other local buds. Some have minor damage that’s superficial and end up being a steal. But here be dragons… plenty of dragons!

    you should do video reviews

  7. Kaveh Espili on December 5, 2021 at 2:55 pm

Also feel like people watching this video might benefit from the tip to check Craigslist/Facebook for used boards, especially after the holidays. My first board was a custom x with cartel est bindings for 300 bucks and had maybe been ridden 3 times total.

  8. sandkatt on December 5, 2021 at 2:55 pm

My favorite are the group of guys that come into the rental shop wearing jeans/sweatpants and sandals with cotton socks. They’ve never boarded before (probably never seen snow before either), not gonna take a lesson and no they don’t have a change of clothes they’re just gonna go out and send it.

  9. Brett Stock on December 5, 2021 at 2:55 pm

I just bought my first board a couple weeks ago. 2017 arbor foundation with burton bindings gonna be sweeeeet

People, if you think you will snowboard more than once in the next few years. Buy your own damn boots. You can get a cheap pair on discount on any major website that is going to 100% effect how much you enjoy your vacation. A safe bet is something like the Burton Rulers. Medium boot true to size for the most part and can find a old year’s model for 100-200 usd.

Will you be reviewing the union Atlas ?

  12. Jonathan Kosyjana on December 5, 2021 at 2:59 pm

Honorable mention. Stay out of the real terrain park at least

  13. Richard Medico on December 5, 2021 at 2:59 pm

Good to know Randy is still kickin-it.

Rentals at US resorts are so fucking expensive. Went to Mayrhofen in Austria a few years ago. People I was with needed rentals. I think they paid something like 120 euro for a week. The boards were solid too. I think one was a Rome Agent, not sure what the other one was.

Hahaha … saw a indian guy 3 years ago who had a rental snowboard , was dressed in jeans and a white t shirt and leather jacket , no helmet , just aviators and on his feet were normal hiking boots , he lined up for the top chairlift on the mountain , my friend who is also indian and can actually snowboard walked up to him and said something …. later i asked what did you say to him ? He replied , i told him if he gets on that chair and goes up there hes going to f&(&king die ! hahahaha he also told him to go get some proper lessons. He had never snowboarded before and that chair accesses a 500 metre verticle blue / black terrain

I can pick out a rental from the bindings when strapping in at the top of a run. My brain is like..
“I smell danger in the air.”

  18. Spencer Thompson on December 5, 2021 at 3:12 pm

The disinfectant spray kills HIV at least

also that sock one: holy shit HAHAHA, you’ve worked in rentals it sounds like

  19. Bohdisattva on December 5, 2021 at 3:12 pm

Nice little bro peep. Real nice 👍🏿

  20. Ernie McKracken on December 5, 2021 at 3:13 pm

The burton LTR line are shitty boards but they definitely aren’t terribly stiff. I’ve used one as a rock board I got for free and could get it to press decently, most of em are full rocker anyway. The bindings are terrible tho lol, think I broke 2 straps in half a day.

  21. Robert Robbins on December 5, 2021 at 3:13 pm

Has anybody actually seen this guy snowboarding?

  22. Luke Dudgeon on December 5, 2021 at 3:18 pm

Had to laugh at the change of attitude to point #2.
Hits real close to home(prices are even more crazy due to covid)

  23. marty maness on December 5, 2021 at 3:19 pm

    I rented once, horrible experience.

“TOP 5 worst foods to eat from the Lodge” 🤣

  25. Howardtrn on December 5, 2021 at 3:32 pm

that was an awesome video dude! you killed it. 😂

  26. VikingPlumber on December 5, 2021 at 3:34 pm

I’ve been forced to rent twice. First time was my first time boarding. Second was impromptu boarding when out of town. Never planned on snowboarding in the middle of Minneapolis MN, but it happened… Rental board plus first time with a very fast old-school tow rope setup, equals Kookdom!

  27. Home Alone on December 5, 2021 at 3:34 pm

I forgot my boots one day. Had to rent boots. They were so stiff and tight, I wanted to buy them when the day was over. I must have forgot to give them a sniff test.

  28. opfreakX on December 5, 2021 at 3:35 pm

I imagine that if Avran was giving a lesson at Kirkwood he would take you straight to the wall, and say good luck.

  29. Shoelaceist on December 5, 2021 at 3:35 pm

If it becomes available to you; you should make a video on the new capita mega Mercury comparing it to the OG Mercury. Haven’t seen much info on it at all

  30. Jack Greenhalgh on December 5, 2021 at 3:35 pm

    snowbasin rental shop😂😂

  31. Daniel Wyllie on December 5, 2021 at 3:37 pm

Avran I’m going to go ahead and add another HM. The second you get out of the rental shop, go directly to the tune shop and ask them to wax your board. Almost always the boards haven’t been waxed in over a week and have been ridden hard (as in destroyed) and the resort just can’t get around to maintaining all the equipment. This will take 20 minutes. You’ll also beat Buckhouse down the mountain no matter your skill level.

  32. SB 309 on December 5, 2021 at 3:37 pm

got a boot-dyer thing at Costco for like 35 $, no excuse to not have one, or two.

  33. Keith Womack on December 5, 2021 at 3:39 pm

I like the rental goobers that let the leash drag behind them cause don’t have a clue what it is.

  34. TJ EASTCOAST on December 5, 2021 at 3:39 pm

Is it easier to ski or board?

  35. GleaMDMK on December 5, 2021 at 3:40 pm

I wanna rent a Gilson with Soft Edge tEChNoLOgY 👍🏻

  36. CStorey333 on December 5, 2021 at 3:41 pm

So glad my rental days are over. Never would have been confident and willing to spend the money to get my gear, without your guidance. Thank you Avran !
