The Best Philippine Blue Angelfish! [Dean's Fish Room]

The Best Philippine Blue Angelfish! [Dean's Fish Room]

While prepping for Peru, I decided to take over the pair of blue angelfish over to dean’s house and film while we were there. The original batch of eggs are now being sold at our store. Blue angelfish and Red angelfish should be in stock.

I had 2 1 year old angles that where 2.5 inches big. One passed. The others from that batch are about 4 -5 inches now.

Thinking of setting up a semi-large African Cichlid tank. Complete with the meanest wildest cichlids AVAILABLE.

I need help with Angelfish. I can not seem to figure out why they keep dying on me. I had 12 in a 75 gallon tank. My gouramis and Paradise fish are doing great. All my water parameters are great. My temperature is 82 degrees. I only have 5 Angels left. I see no reason for them dying. I am about ready to give up on Angels. I love them but seem to fragile. I also in another tank have plecos and Oscars doing great from the same water. So WHAT’S UP WITH THE CRAP.

Where do you get the fry trays from?

  9. Matt Kinsella on April 12, 2020 at 5:34 pm

Of all the fish rooms I’ve seen on YouTube, Dean’s is by far my favorite. The awesome and efficient setup and the combination of fish, as well as how tidy and clean, together with his little innovations….. I’m jealous 😆

Hi, Dean, do you use methylene blue for spawn angel fish?

  13. Hunter Unkart on April 12, 2020 at 5:38 pm

You could make a deflector or shade, and place from ceiling just to below the light bulb. This will in turn focus the light directly down and not on the tanks themselves. Then without the direct light source algae should not grow.

Does Dean get German Blues in the fry from the Dark Knights ?

  17. Dee Dee on April 12, 2020 at 5:41 pm

Lighting, how about some type of shade that reduces the amount of light to the top shelf? Awesome vid! Thanks! 😀

  18. Austin P on April 12, 2020 at 5:41 pm

Can we get info on how Dean culls? Like which method. I dont keep any monster fish to feed any fry to, so I’m wondering what is the best method. Also I realize this is months old, but I watch all of the Dean videos.

18 hours of Light !! That is too much, why not switch on the room light at 8 am or 7 am ? Even in nature night / darkness is 9 hours or more

Can I buy Angles from you Sir ?? I trust you and the way you do things.. So, I would much rather buy from you than anywhere else.. I live in Virginia.. If you don’t sell, where would you recommend getting them from ?? I looked at Pet Co. yesterday and they had some that looked healthy but, I’m still skeptical about getting fish from these large chain stores.. Your opinion is very important to me about this..

Great video, really. I’ve watched it a couple of times. I’m still waiting for the live-casting from Dean’s fish room. (And yea, would like to see you make the feeder. I sort of recognize the cone from the days we used to feed live tubefex worms.)

When you catch your fish to get it out of its tank, is it OK to look at it for a second before putting it back in the water like Dean did?

Just a quick comment on Dean’s feeding bells. I remember the Miracle range of freeze dried foods in the late 1960’s and they produced and sold feeding bells very similar to those Dean is using. I found them very useful and would be interested in seeing how they are made…

By any chance does the female will lay her eggs without a male? Is there like any behavior similar to that.. Or the female will only lay eggs if there is a male in the breeding tank.. I mean do female angel fish will lay eggs together without any male.. Thanks.
