I watched another video and a guy said ,” buy nice or buy it twice”, I never saved up on my cold gear but one time tried to buy a cheap camo fleece for 23$ , this crap failed me on the day 1 of my hunting trip, there’s no worse thing than to suffer up on the tree stand, since then I try to find a good deal of course but I won’t even dare to go to woods with 10$ worth gear.

Personally i think the best way is to buy a matching blaze camo set. You know a parka and bibs. Under those i just wear a set of thermals. And i never wash the outer garments!

Another great clothes source: thrift stores! This is especially true for base layers since they don’t have to be all camo. My favorite/best find was a pair of heavy duty, insulated work overalls by Berne (made in Ossian, IN) for $25. Admittedly, I’ve never worn $100+ camo overalls so my fat ass doesn’t know the fine, smooth pleasure they may bring. But those rough, sturdy, super stiff duck cloth ones I have are bomb proof and keep me warm when wet.

    you can’t bear buying a 100$ for a hunting jacket? You’ve never tried a gore-tex jacket!

I could wear shorts in the 50s! Then again our average yearly temperature isn’t much higher than that here in ny.

Here in Texas we had a high in the 50s today. Normally the weather would be hot today but the weather changes drastically sometimes. You made me laugh when you said you wouldn’t need winter pants in Texas. 🙂
