Survival. Everyone has watched those shows on TV and have thought about what it would be like to survive in the woods. I like to take it one step further and decided to embark on a solo survival adventure. Alone on Vancouver Island, I test my survival skills built upon a knowledge base of bushcraft and camping. Bringing only a large knife and a ferro rod, as well as camera gear and a backpack, I set out to see what I can do alone in the wild.
Enjoy,
Dave from BC Bushcraft

  5. Richard Plantagenet on January 26, 2020 at 3:22 pm

If you can carry that ridiculous great machete, you can carry a hatchet, folding saw and a belt knife. Much more practical and versatile

Heat the stones in the fire on another larger stone. . .ingesting that much wood ash for several days will result in major dysentery in short order. . . Dehydration will come swiftly after much unnecessary suffering in a "real world" situation.

Not sure how this guy thinks this is a thirty day no shelter challenge since the entire first five minutes is him building a shelter . I carry a large blade instead of an axe also but guy , your blade skills scare me . You are careful enough with your arm but apparently have no issue with sticking your leg where it shouldn’t be . Just saying ….

  36. Aj Miller on January 26, 2020 at 4:05 pm

I loved the video Bro, you preaching about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the end made my subscribe..

The firn plant u cleared have editable bulb root . The green leaf place over fire gives off smoke that keeps mosquitoes away from shelter

  39. Richard Brown on January 26, 2020 at 4:08 pm

I really dont get why all these survival guys take flint and steel??? To start fires?? If it was a zero tools/equipment thing it would be worth watching. But if you going to buy that flint then why not just buy something better???? Why not just take a propane cigarette lighter or a box of matches? Its way quicker and more reliable.

stones from by a river, how do you know they won’t explode as I have heard they can be like a grenade.good vid

  46. Story William on January 26, 2020 at 4:14 pm

That little salamander can be made into a tasty lunch. Poke it with a stick over a fire then it’s ready as a quick snack. The fishing line should have a small pebble for a weight so that it can be swished far into the far side of the river. Fish won’t expose itself into the open shallow river bank even if it’s hungry.

  47. esnevip on January 26, 2020 at 4:15 pm

Why wold you wear that colour camo in the forest?
It seems the usefulness of having camoflauged clothing be functional didn’t occur lol

  48. James Lorman on January 26, 2020 at 4:16 pm

"this thing can withstand my light tapping….. thumbs up" dat was friggin hilarious…..

  49. magusalak cristituto on January 26, 2020 at 4:17 pm

its funny to show in the video a shelter on the ground with a place infested by bears haha i dont get it,,its like a fool camping alone with a place that has so many bears..id rather build up in the trees..than sleep on the ground with a very high chance of meeting a bear while asleep..why not show how to build a tree house in just 2 hours i will be impressed..building a tree house required skills..1st you have to build ladder choose a big tree..with that kind of tools its so easy to build..remember this..human beings are most vulnerable in times of sleep..i dont want to think waking up by bears in sleep its very ugly and scary haha

  50. Exotwin on January 26, 2020 at 4:19 pm

You said no fear from wild animals in deep forest? sure, until you get one and shit your pants, the rookie survival book you learned from is not showing you the other side of the reality, just wait.
