About the halfway point in the video, your doing some pass shooting of driven birds. You did very well on the right to left shots and poorly on the left to right ones; you’re obviously right handed. OK, there is one little thing you can do to greatly improve your results on the left to right passing shots in the field. As you physically respond to the oncoming bird, make a conscious effort to twist your body to the right (clockwise) by positioning your feet in one move that will set you up for the right presentation as the shot is taken. In other words, because your feet are planted in more of a forward facing position when taking these missed shots, your upper body is twisting unnaturally and the gun is coming off of your face just before the shot (because you’re running out of available movement remaining in your upper body) which causes the gun to stop swinging and a miss behind the bird. When your feet are planted properly, you will be in a position to naturally make the shot at the optimum moment in the birds flight path, which you will naturally choose. Just as in sporting clays, you choose exactly where you wish to break the target and then position your feet so that your upper body is free to move and in balance at the point of the kill. Go out to the sporting clays range and try this some time; you will be amazed at what a difference this will make in your success. Good luck, we really enjoy your videos…..Michigan strong!

What part of Montana?…My dog and I would love it, makes me want to move. Pheasant and bird hunting with my dog is one of my favorite things to do. Ohio had half decent pheasant hunting when I was a kid but it died off real fast.
