    They are gopher traps.
Edit: more likely used to trap coyotes or foxes along the river. If this river freezes over in the winter they were probably forgot along the bank.

  7. Lobo Blanco on April 21, 2022 at 6:42 pm

It’s a Coyote trap and Second thing is you hook it to a mule for the chain and it grabs a log and you can pull a log

  8. Nathan Ferguson on April 21, 2022 at 6:42 pm

I’ve watched a majority of your videos and had a question. Why do you throw a lot of the metal out? Is there not any scrap yards nearby to earn a little more money?

  9. Randy Z on April 21, 2022 at 6:42 pm

Such a great idea! I’m new to Magnet fishing, My ol lady an I figured we’d start dabbling with it for something to do. But we went an bought little kit off Amazon an it had a 390lb magnet. Man, that thing don’t snag on to anything. Could you recommend a magnet for us to purchase?
    Thanks Dude!

  20. sxtn102 on April 21, 2022 at 6:57 pm

At 9:30, that looks like the handle of a civil war sword! Too bad it broke, bet it was a cool relic!

  21. Max Collura on April 21, 2022 at 7:00 pm

10:13 I think that is for picking up cut wood

  22. exploring peco on April 21, 2022 at 7:01 pm

The first 2 things are animal traps and the 3rd is too pick up logs it’s missing the wood handle and it’s worth some money actually all of it is old traps are worth money

  23. Melanie Jo on April 21, 2022 at 7:02 pm

  25. Albino Shark on April 21, 2022 at 7:02 pm

Hook find, is a logging tool used for grabbing logs, or chopped down trees.

  26. Alex Thomas on April 21, 2022 at 7:03 pm

  29. Trav-trav 1718 on April 21, 2022 at 7:06 pm

    They’re foot hold traps

  30. sxtn102 on April 21, 2022 at 7:08 pm

At 10:15, that’s a tool ice purveyors would use to bring a big block of ice for your ice box (early version of a fridge).

  31. John Calderella on April 21, 2022 at 7:08 pm

Looked like an old animal trap to me

  32. Bbhoomer on April 21, 2022 at 7:08 pm

Good plan to use Google Maps for Magnet Fishing. Would have never used Google Maps to go Magnet fishing!
    Love your vids bro!

    my notifications aren’t working 🙁

  36. Albino Shark on April 21, 2022 at 7:16 pm

First find in the video are traps.
    I call em bear traps.

  37. heir apparent333 on April 21, 2022 at 7:20 pm

The first, second, and forth finds. Might be the clamps used to clamp, the logs together, to float them down the water ways. The chains, are used to secure the clamps, to the other clamps, connected to the log ties.

  38. ILUVMYRTLEBEACHSC on April 21, 2022 at 7:20 pm

Those things you were finding definitely were traps – probably someones trap line for muskrat/beaver/otter

  39. zach archer on April 21, 2022 at 7:21 pm

    You found mini bear traps

  40. Albino Shark on April 21, 2022 at 7:22 pm

Side note, it’s so nice to have found a youtuber from my home state.
I miss North Carolina. I lived around Greensboro area, but Raleigh is so beautiful also. I will definitely be watching more, solely even for the purpose of just getting to see, home.
    I miss home.
Thank you Daniel for providing me comfort.

Going kayaking tomorrow and thought i’d do some magnet fishing myself 😉

  46. Hotrod Farmer on April 21, 2022 at 7:26 pm

That first and second thing was a trap for animals

  47. William 1221 on April 21, 2022 at 7:29 pm

looks like a piece of old logging equipment

  48. heir apparent333 on April 21, 2022 at 7:31 pm

The third find, in this video, is a log tie. The ends bite into the log, then the top is secured to other logs, or the boat used to float them down the waterway.

  49. Bruce Baumgartner on April 21, 2022 at 7:31 pm

They are jump traps used for muskrat or raccoons.

  50. LeadfootPTM on April 21, 2022 at 7:33 pm

You found some traps and a set of tongs like for skidding logs.
People who don’t like trapping probably found the traps and tossed them so the couldn’t be used again.
