I started this year on a 1999 cannondale F500 shredding with my friends who had full suspension mtbs. Threw some new shifters tires and pedals on and cut the seat post, granted if been riding BMW for a while I just got good, I’m able to keep up with them send pretty big for having a single front shock. But now I’m thinking about getting an enduro. Dont do what I did I’m crazy.
I’ve said this before Ryan, but I truly think that your channel is the best on Youtube! I love your attitude and your delivery of content. You are a genuine person a just a damn nice guy. Your family is awesome and your videos are the best out there imo. I have been in education for over thirty years and I love to continually learn and I feel that every video that you produce, teaches me something new! Maybe one day this Ontario boy can get his butt out there and we could ride! Cheers Ryan.
Kevin
im literally 20k in debt with 10 useless hobbies…. why am i watching this
" ye ye its huge" that’s what she said
first i need to replace city bike with mountain bike
thanks for video bro
What if you don’t have a local bike shop?
i have a carrera, can i get into mountain biking with that?
What brand of shirts were you wearing at the beginning of the video?
I found myself a mongoose but the suspension is not working and I see cartridge system inside someone help me I’m ten by the way
oh no that’s bad 11:48
The superstition mountains in AZ is where I’m at. Not saying doing as I do, but my rig is a sketchy ’03 Ellsworth Isis with a 1×10 and puncture resistance in the tubes and tires because as everyone knows we have some spiky stuff laying around all over. That’s really everything a beginner like me has needed for awhile, I basically agree with what these dudes have said: only the customer knows what they’ll ultimately want, plus there’s a solution to every bike’s flaw: don’t like the hardtail’s rough riding but can’t afford another bike? Get a suspension seatpost.
Step 1: Figure out what trails you have near you
Step 2: Figure out what kind of bike you need for that kind of terrain
Step 3: Try to rent that kind of bike
Step 4: Ride it
Step 5: Buy a bike
Repeat Step 4.
Siri says my local bike shop is a dicks sporting goods
I just bought a $3000 mtb hope it pays off
Love your t-shirt
I have a bike, don’t care if I get injured. I only have one problem.
THERE ARE NO MOUNTAIN TRAILS IN MY COUNTRY! FU—
Love this! I’ve been riding for a bit now, but wish I would have seen this video when I was starting out.
Unfortunately, this video is not very helpful right now. Going to a bike shop isn’t very safe, and even if you go there, they rarely have any bikes in stock. Hopefully this will be useful again next year!
I’m one of those people that likes things that are not common sports and if I’m in a sport I’m ALL in and that gets expensive with expensive sports.
11:48 Ouch! understatement!
I already bike a lot buuut maybe I’ll get some tips
*Me on my 149 dollar 24 inch wheel Walmart Mountain Bike that has been that has been tinkered with by my zero to no bicycle knowledge to ride his local regular nature park by creating his own trails*
hmm yeah noice content 🤣 (also thinking about taking my brother’s lightning Mcqueen kid bike seat because it’s small and comfy and putting it on my bike while also adjusting my very worn out rim brakes)
"Love it !!"
Supporting your local bike shop 👍 🙌. Great place to inquire about a mountain bike.
Best way to get a bike if you have a lowish budget: BikesDirect.
Amazing video! Very informative!
I have a Huffy and a Mongoose helmet. I’m set
I’m 14 someone help me get a mountain bike, think it’s my passion
Going to the bike shop tomorrow for my first bike I’m not sure if I should get a hard tail or full suspension any thoughts guys?
Bro I’m in Edmonton too and just getting started with mountain biking. Thanks for the vids
Its pronounced "poley" -_-
Steven Rinella is that you?
– Go to LBS and pay boutique prices OR buy online from canyon with all the bells and whistles for a LOT less?
Yeah, fck the LBS.
I’ve known several people that heavily weigh the paint job. Try happily admit they don’t like the bike as much but live the look so they happily own it
joining because living in innsbruck without owning a bike is a crime I’m pretty sure. Like, hell, every grandma and her dog got bikes here, wtf.
The thumbnail looks exactly like me right now
2:25 Well, that certainly aged well…
Full send; used to mountain bike as a kid with my old man, haven’t ridden one in years, plus everything was 26" back then. Been itching to get back into it, found a local guy on fb selling a minty Fuel EX 5 29er, going to pick her up this evening. I’m stoked!!!
Yo i live in edmonton to
I dont have a local bike shop
I watched this video like 2 weeks ago, and now I’m waiting my bike like a child waiting toys in Christmas I hope I recover my skills faster after like 10 years without riding
I skateboard and inline skate so I only have skate helmets will those work with mtb?
We just released a NEW VID about getting your partner into *mountain biking*! Check it out: https://youtu.be/BdF7YEqbm7s
just a newbie question, hope someone can answer it somewhat seriously. Never done it sooo… How smart is it to hit trails with a Hardtail? Theyre mostly cheaper but that sounds like its a little sketchy to be honest. Kinda like doing the Rally Dakar in a Car with coils up front and solid-axle leafs out back.
So you’ve been mountain biking for 20 years. I know there are aps today, but how did you find trails 20 years ago?
These videos are dangerous for my bank account. i already have a gun, knife, and car hobby eating my money, but damn if it doesnt look fun to get into.
Just watch.11:49
I tried to take my BMX bike on mtb trails yesterday and ate shit coming in to hot on a turn without brakes
34 and want to get into MTBing… Feels like I am 20 years too late …
Pole bikes are out of every beginners price point
