Vail Ski Resort is a ski resort located near the town of Vail in Eagle County, Colorado. At 5,289 acres, it is the third-largest single-mountain ski resort in the United States, behind Big Sky and Park City, featuring seven bowls and intermediate gladed terrain in Blue Sky Basin.

Vail opened in 1962 and is one of 37 mountain resorts owned and operated by Vail Resorts, which also operates three other nearby ski resorts (Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, and Keystone).

Vail Mountain has three sections: The Front-Side, Blue Sky Basin, and the Back Bowls. Most of the resort is wide open terrain with all types of trails. There are cruising runs accessible from most front side and Blue Sky Basin lifts, as well as the wide open Back Bowls, glades, and chutes.

Vail has the fourth-largest area of skiable terrain in North America after Whistler Blackcomb, Powder Mountain, and Big Sky.

Vail Village is modeled on Bavarian village styles, with pedestrian streets. Unlike other Colorado ski towns such as Aspen, Breckenridge, or Steamboat Springs, which existed as 19th century mining towns prior to the establishment of their ski resorts, the Vail village was built when the resort opened.

► I grew up in Kalamazoo, Michigan and graduated with a Marketing degree from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan.
► I moved to Colorado in November 2016 and fell in love with all the beautiful nature scenes that Colorado has to offer. So, the Nash Potatoes Outdoor Show (an outdoor nature VLOG) was created in April 2017. Slowly, but surely my channel began to grow.
► So, in November 2019, I took a 4-month camping trip in my pop-up camper. This gave me an opportunity to travel, explore, unwind, and create lots of great videos.
► Then, in December 2020, I began recording a series of downhill ski videos using a GoPro camera mounted to my ski helmet. These quickly became popular and my passion for YouTube was sparked once again!
► I actually had so many great memories of my camping trip that I’ve decided to do another one. In March 2021, I plan to begin converting a 12-foot enclosed trailer into a camper. Then, I plan to record videos at Yellowstone National Park, Glacier National Park, Idaho, Washington, and Oregon. These videos are sure to be some of my best yet!
► The Nash Potatoes Outdoor Show allows me to share all of my experiences with you. Join me on my adventure as I talk about life, laughter, exploration, and creating content for YouTube…enjoy!

So what speed did you hit in kph (kilometres per hour)as I live in New Zealand? I hit 74.8kph in Canada on my ski app but I was young then only 55 years old.

Love the video – thanks for sharing. Can’t believe how well your skiing with those old school skis. You should think about getting a set of shaped skis – so much easier on turns.

My uncle owned a condominium building in Vail, I miss that place so much fun in winter and summer. I miss it even more hearing your joy on the slopes

for the month of december it looks like a ghost town at the resort. Does not look like a lot of snow there either..

  15. Tyler Echo on October 25, 2021 at 12:34 pm

#1 (unwritten) rule of skiing – don’t be a Jerry. That aside, try keeping your hips faced down the mountain as you carve, edge to edge. And as you’re yelling and screaming about how hard you’re going down, I’m skating past you with my headphones in. It’s just a bit embarrassing, but good luck progressing! Less heels, more edge-to-edge
