Nice build! Thanks for sharing. Liked you idea of using PVC material and PVC cement in your build.
Here are a few pictures for your enjoyment. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1ZRdVTbkHmdDoBG2P6Ag-D6EONTZe0165?usp=sharing
I built something similar for a NuCanoe Frontier 12 I used to own. Their design had more depth under the seat. I designed it for inserting up to 4 Plano tackle boxes of different sizes. I used a heat gun to form a ledge creating a shelf back to keep the boxes in place.
I too now own a Hobie Pro Angler 14 and LOVE IT.

Nice video. I made one with serving tray for my kayak, but this one is way better. BTW: If you need custom apparel made for your channel hit me up. I can do custom t-shirts, designs and lot more.

So I am wondering if you can help me out. I have just recently bought my 1st fishing kayak and I’m wanting to put a trolling moter on it. ( because of your videos) what is the bed battery to use for that

  7. Jesus Bosque on February 27, 2020 at 2:25 pm

Great idea and great build…. super easy for you but I may struggle with the crafting!!! Thanks for posting this very useful vid…….

  10. Joe vogle on February 27, 2020 at 2:28 pm

Great how to video as always! When gluing the pieces together, did you just apply the glue, say, to a side wall of the drawer and then set it in place? Did you also go back and apply more glue to either side of the joint for added insurance? I was hoping you would have covered that in the video. Thanks again and you can bet I’ll be building one for each of my yaks! Merry Christmas!!! 🎄

Shower sheet board works well also alot cheaper

  12. M. Smith on February 27, 2020 at 2:31 pm

"HINT"… Make the tops of your under-drawer "runners" rounded, so you can wax (Bow String Wax probably work) them, so it slides a little better (with less "scraping" noise!).
Nice – Simple – Efficient design, and I think a lot of viewers will try that. Thanks…

You are the man! I’m about to mod a cheapo Lifetime, and wanted to make storage shelves for under my seat… doing this instead!

  23. Ozarks Yak Angler on February 27, 2020 at 2:41 pm

  24. Sailing DD Circumnavigation on February 27, 2020 at 2:41 pm

What does Lowe’s market the PVC as?

  28. Post Stalone on February 27, 2020 at 2:46 pm

I don’t have under seat space to be able to do this but the construction was exactly what I was looking for. I’ve been wanting to construct a box for my rear well since it’s triangular and won’t take a standard milk crate. Figure that’s easier than saving $1.5-3k for a new yak.

  29. marcus on February 27, 2020 at 2:49 pm

Great videos. New to kayak fishing and your diy videos are great. I have a ospery9 as my starting kayak and starting to kit it out. Awesome content 🤙

  30. BASS n BEER !! on February 27, 2020 at 2:50 pm

One thing I love about my Bonafide is the drawer that slides out from under the seat, its probably the #1 space on my yak and is used the most!!!

  31. John Klopp on February 27, 2020 at 2:54 pm

    Nice drawer system! 👍

  32. jerry ebner on February 27, 2020 at 2:54 pm

Nice, my kayak my seat is right on the kayak so I can’t do this but nice .

    Its alive lol

  34. Jr Mocaby on February 27, 2020 at 2:56 pm

This is awesome man! I have a pro angler 14 and have been looking for a under the seat store/junk drawer for awhile now, any interest in making one for me and shipping i would of course pay for parts and labor plus shipping.

  35. Darrell Richards on February 27, 2020 at 2:57 pm

    Awesome

  36. TheCalkid10101 on February 27, 2020 at 2:57 pm

Glue some additional little verticle strips inside the drawer so you can add or take away compartments. Sorta of like the dividers in a plano tackle storage box.

  38. F Burke on February 27, 2020 at 3:02 pm

    Well done!

  39. Kendall Williams on February 27, 2020 at 3:02 pm

Should I be bringing my pistol with me on the yak?? Lol you just made me feel like I’m lacking 😂

  40. Steve Ruffino on February 27, 2020 at 3:02 pm

I like the storage idea, but it seems it would prevent me from adjusting the height on the Hobie Vantage seat? Not sure if I am ready to make that trade-off. I am in a 2019 Outback.

  41. Muddyh2o2 Init on February 27, 2020 at 3:03 pm

Just curious if you could use the strap under the seat instead of drilling holes? That way it’s removable when traveling.

  42. Chuck Norrisrat on February 27, 2020 at 3:06 pm

    Yep, definitely doing this

  43. Kyle Lundy on February 27, 2020 at 3:07 pm

Boom- Mind blown!!! I’ve thought 100 times while fishing- "I wish I had a drawer here." I use a Wilderness systems Radar 115 & there isn’t anything available. Thanks so much for taking the time to share this. You provided a project before new year’s! Nice job explaining & breaking it down for us. Thumbs up man.

  44. John Rister on February 27, 2020 at 3:07 pm

I wonder if it is sturdy enough to mount a swivel boat seat directly onto the box. Dunno but I might play around with some materials to see if I can make that work. Would solve issues with kayaks with low to no clearance under seat.

  45. The Next Fishing Adventure on February 27, 2020 at 3:08 pm

That’s a GREAT idea! I see this going into my new Hobie soon. Tight lines 🎣

  46. Wiley Coyote on February 27, 2020 at 3:13 pm

I made one to go under my PA 360 seat and I add 2 yak power pin lights to the front and one on each side. I also add two USB ports one on the front and one on the back. Now I don’t have to drill any holes in my kayak for lights.

  47. Jimmy D Cantrell Jr on February 27, 2020 at 3:14 pm

Awesome job 👊👊 wonder if I could make one for my 128t ?
