I am a member of the Y. So I would use the closest gym to shower.Question: I am currently making payments on an Optima. Not sure if I want all that wear and tear or would it be a best to just rent a car on the cheap? and youre lady is hot 🙂 keep her!

In 1970 I hitchhiked alone around the country for about 3 months. I left home with $100 and returned with $120. Worked odd jobs along the way to pay for the trip. With inflation being what it is and there are 2 of you and you drove, you did way better than me.

That 50$ bridge to PEI, haha, I thought they misplaced the decimal 😂 but for 75$ you get to leave on the ferry which is pretty cool and saves time….

A lot of tricks you guys have that you should tell us, for instance before mentioning the tent I was thinking you were sleeping in the car. Also do you guys think these campsites are safe?

  39. Thomas Flanagan on December 22, 2019 at 1:26 am

I planning on taking my wife on a road trip this summer (end of june and beginning of july) unfortunately hotels is in my budget but from columbus georgia to maine pretty much stopping at Virginia beach, dc, Niagara falls, maine(im ok with ditching that stop if necessary), hershey park pa, new york(4th of july), and making our way back home. First trip on our own considering we are early 20s and im looking at a 3600 budget but id like to comfortably go up there with at least 5k just to be safe. If you have any advice other than the sleep situation id like to hear it. Our first road trip i believe its gonna be fun!

no fair i want a girl that looks at me like that!

  43. tatoghe on December 22, 2019 at 1:29 am

    Awesome vid!
So, you’ve spent about $950 for lodging in 100 days. Taking into account how much inns and motels cost in the US during summer season, then you should have stayed in those for about 10-12 times during the whole trip. That means having a shower once in every 8-10 days? Or did you exploit other shower possibilities besides at motels?

On the grand total, it would look quite different for me, as I’m renting my apartment, my monthly running costs including all bills are approx. $1700. Being away for 3 1/2 months and without work/income, that would add up to $5700, that I would have to come up with. So, in my case, the actual cost will be around $10000.

I just came back from 1 week road trip for 2000 miles across 4 national parks, and now I’m hooked up

  45. Rich Croce on December 22, 2019 at 1:33 am

This was really helpful for me. My wife and I are in our 60s, and in the fall of 2020 we are going to take a cross-country trip planning on tenting our way the whole way. Will definitely check out that free campsites.net site to see how we can stay for almost nothing in places I still see a good part of the western part of the US. You’re driving from Pennsylvania for A 6 Week Rd. trip and plan on having our newly acquired dog by them to accompany us. Glad I found your channel I’m going to check out some of your videos from your trip for inspiration.

    Where did u bang?

  48. Seb1406 on December 22, 2019 at 1:36 am

Good video! How much is an average bed and breakfast in US? I’m planning a US x-country trip next year, fly to NY rent a car drive south route to LA, then northern route back to NY. Will take tent but travelling with a 5 year old so want to stop in a decent B&B every now and then is also a plan.
Do you have to book paid campsites and b&bs in advance or can you show show up on the day and expect a vacancy? Thanks
