Nashville is no longer and affordable place to live. Too many people have moved in pushing prices up. Condemned places go for $200K+ and a descent move in ready place will set you back $350+. Incomes in Nashville have not kept up with the property increases. A good job in Nashville is $45K+ and for those with a degree you can expect $60K-$80K with experience. The point is Nashville is not as great as it used to be. Even for those with degrees you will struggle. I know a music therapy nurse (4 year degree) who is paying $1600 a month for a basement apartment outside the city limits. I have heard of people paying as much as $3000 a month for rent inside Briley parkway/440.
